DMV representative Brotha Meech presents the DMVLife-directed music video for "Sean Price Back", his PT Tha ET-produced dedication to the late Brownsville emcee, who passed in 2015. Meech was Marketing Director for Sony Music in Atlanta before migrating north, releasing #unplug in 2014 and Meech 2020 in 2016 (Spotify). In 2019 Meech hit WorldStar with his Flashcard Freestyle series (WorldStar). “Boom Bap is making a comeback and I’m here to champion its return," Meech says about his new single. “Pop artists get tributes, rock artists get tribute, hell even R&B singers get tributes. Cape Town-based rapper/vocalist/songwriter Nyota Parker presents the Knew Visions-directed music video for her new single "Transcend". Claiming Congolese, Irish and South African heritage, Nyota makes a fusion of hip-hop, jazz, trap and soul she calls 'trazz'. Nyota says "Transcend" is all about what she's "claiming for 2020 and the future. Richmond, CA rapper Mani Draper presents the SLVTR Films-directed music video for "Made It Work", the new P-Lo-produced single from TV Babies, Mani's new album featuring IAMSU!, YMTK, Iman Europe, Kevin Allen, Aneessa Strings and Ryan Nicole. "Made It Work" follows on the heels of visuals for "Blood In The Water" (watch) from his previous album Mercy (Spotify). Mani has several albums under his belt including The Unauthorized Biography of Ella Mae, Last Marauder and RAWK (Mani on Spotify) and has collaborated with Jake One and Terrace Martin. Mani has composed original music for Tommy Hilfiger, Adidas and Calvin Klein, and was the narrative voice on IAMSU's Sincerely Yours album. Mani co-founded the Brave Area collective and partnered with Bay Area boutique label At The Ave Records in 2017. “'Made It Work' was made in a space of highlighting our resourcefulness and creativity of always adapting and thriving no matter the circumstances," Mani says. "Being in the studio with P-Lo, he challenged me to deliver that messaging in a way it could be received by a larger group of people. Sonically leveraging what our region is known for all the while pushing the bar lyrically. Not a compromise but a challenge to find a more creative way to deliver."

Artist: Substance Abuse ft Aceyalone Release: Bridges Digital: 2 x EP Packages - May 2019: ‘North Street’ Remixes EP/ ‘Blue Room’ Remixes EP Vinyl 7”: June 2019 Ramrock Red Records is proud to present the forthcoming single ‘Bridges’ as a vinyl 7” and 2 x Remix EP package from L.A. hip hop duo Substance Abuse aka Eso Tre and Subz. ‘Bridges’ features Aceyalone, founding member of legendary Freestyle Fellowship, a collective who brought an improvisational focus to the Los Angeles underground hip-hop scene in the 1990s. Eso says "Subz came up with the idea for 'Bridges' because he felt we needed to do a song about unity in these increasingly divisive times we live in. Our goal was to create a track that was jazzy, positive, and upbeat but with a message that the modern audiences could relate to, following on in the tradition of our heroes ‘The Native Tongues’. To deliver that message, we couldn't think of a better MC than Aceyalone to bring on board. He has a special talent for creating dope songs built off of a single metaphor and he completes our vision." Many of you will already know the original version which is a sublime, soulful, future hip hop classic referencing the very best of the jazzy undertones from the ‘golden era’ groups like De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest, Jungle Brothers and their ilk. It will be featured on the limited 7” vinyl as the A side. The ‘North Street’ Vocal Remix with Beedle, Morris & Wallace flexing their considerable production and composition muscle, come up with an original musical score to run ‘Bridges’ over, paying respect to Ramsey Lewis, Ronnie Foster and Bob James which will also feature on vinyl as well as digital. Other tracks on the digital ‘North Street’ Remixes EP, to accompany the ‘North Street’ Vocal Remix, will be the Piano Dub and Instrumental. On the second digital EP entitled ‘Blue Room’ digital EP, Substance Abuse showcase no fewer than 4 other remixes with Street, Clean + Instrumental versions to complete their debut UK outing.
