INTERVIEW + PEER REVIEW BY RAREFLAVR.COM “DETACH FROM THE MASSES”

Thank you for your positive comments on the album below.

PEER REVIEW

by RareFlavr “Detach From the Masses” at rareflavr.com

heady lovell’s - LOVELL SHOW

Overall, SOLID album.

12 tracks; including intro, interlude, outro

A true midwest, hip-hop rap album, with surprises. Including Jazz elements, battle rap sounds, eminem/kanye sound on a few tracks, lyricism, album mode, samples, and more.

The Album is not only deep, with a primary theme of lyricism , it also is filled with clever one-liners/punch lines that is refreshing to hear on the hip-hop/rap scene. Heady has the ability to snap nearly the entire track the endurance is notable, worthy, and fitting for this particular album’s style.

The concept of Lovell’s Show as a nod to his favorite comedian Dave Chappelle’s, Chappelle Show is great timing and fitting as well which is solid to the creativity/timing of album.

The features on the album are fairly top notch, thought it was 2chains (opinion) on WaterBoy (feat. VLNS_BEATS) which is raw creative, relevant. Also, the beats by ItsGaitWhoElse have a commercial sound with the drowned out samples for ex. on Just Saying and Running, which the sound can be popularly heard (radio sounding- great work).

OPINIONs ALERT - Perfect Timing for heady to drop a full-length album, considering any circumstances and what it takes to put together an album 10+ tracks. Heady reminded us sort of like Eminem on Gretzsky-(a good thing). The Song Hell is raw, the sound is uplifting, the concept could be a little off-settling to some listeners “Guess who’s going to hell tonight” Yet the song IS FIRE lyrical anthem, the singing on the beginning the flow sound everything sounds fantastic similar to a kanye vibe.

Summary: This album is solid, you will find that there are surprises in the album the more you listen to it. You may be able to follow some of the clever lines that Heady has after listening to the album/songs several times. The album has full tracks with concepts for the choruses, and surrounding verses to match. A complete project. WE GIVE THIS A THUMBS UP !

INTERVIEW PORTION

Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for reading this interview article featuring the man himself HEADY LOVELL and his new fantastic project, “Lovell’s Show” Every stream/listen adds up turn up, and celebrate, “Lovell’s Show” by Heady Lovell! Thank You!

Lovell’s Show- Title of the Album - Is this a play of Eminem’s album the eminem show?

It's funny you should mention that. To be honest, The Eminem Show was an afterthought that worked out perfectly. But Lovell's Show's title is a reference to my favorite comedian of all time, Dave Chappelle, and Chappelle's Show. The Eminem reference was more of a happy accident, but I know better than to open myself up for comparison to arguably the greatest lyricist in history.

What Can People Expect from The Lovell Show?

Hopefully they don't expect a damn thing, lol. When it comes to unsigned, non-mainstream artists' work, people tend to expect that it sucks. I hope that is not the case for Lovell's Show, as it is a body of work that has something to which almost everyone can connect. There's speaker bangers, introspective tracks, instrumentals,  humility, tenacity, delusions of grandeur...it has it all. Listeners can expect to learn a little about me. Maybe a little about themselves.

Noticed that this Project is dedicated to Virgil Abloh, what does and did Virgil do for you as far as inspiration, what did he represent for you? How does this loss impact the game?

It's hard to put into words what Virgil Abloh meant to me, my style, and music in general. There are certain individuals who come around and change everything we thought we knew, and inspire others to do the same. Virgil was most definitely one of those individuals. His creative influence on artists such as Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco is what influenced me as an artist. His ability to be a leader while playing a background role most of his life is what keeps me humble in my real life. His lack of fear, when it comes to exploring ALL avenues of creativity that one has to offer, is an example we should all live by. Virgil Abloh never "stayed in his lane." He paved his own road. It's hard to say how the loss of such a great figure will ultimately impact the game, but I'm willing to bet that innovation slows down, just like when Steve Jobs passed. But I hope I'm wrong.

Your project is a full-length project full of bars, lyrics, and hooks. Catchy Ideas, samples, and more.

Thanks!

What was your full process like during this album, as far as selecting beats, writing vs. free-styling, all in all how did this project come together? Inspirations? Did you make every beat that wasn’t noted as ‘prod by.’? How long did this album take you to make?

This project was a few months in the making. After I dropped VANTABLAVK, I found myself aimlessly creating and putting out tracks just because I had so much more to say. But at a certain point, I realized that I should stop producing one-offs and start putting out as many bodies of work as possible. Initially, I never cared about getting a deal of any kind. I just wanted to make music. In my maturity, I know that this is the music business (keyword: business), and that if I want to be successful, I have to prove that I can make albums.

As far as the process, this is the first project that I've created and released with the help of other artists. I usually like to run the show and have control over everything, but this time around I decided to enlist a few friends to better bring my ideas to life. With the exception of "Ooh La Lovell" and "Hell" (on which I produced the drum tracks), I did create the beats on the songs that don't specify otherwise. But collaboration was KEY for this project to have happened. And I thank those who were there for me when I called.

What was the most difficult part of making the album?

This project was made in its entirety while simultaneously planning an overseas wedding. I'd have to say that the hardest part of making this album was finding the time. People think it's easy to crank out a body of work that one can be proud of, and that has mass appeal. It's difficult to find time to sit down and write out coherent, cohesive verses, produce beats from scratch, find (and hopefully clear) samples, connect with collaborators in different timezones, mix, master, create cover art, AND spend time with your fiance….trust me. But to me it's worth it.

What is your favorite song on the Album? Why?

That's a tough one. I really like Gretzky and FSU (which stands for Fuck Shit Up), but Waterboy has me singing along to that VLNS_Beats verse as if I wrote it myself. I like hearing other people, even on my own shit. It gives me a high frequency sensation down my spine to hear someone else going in on a track with me. I hope to have more features and to be featured on many songs to come.

What do you think is most misunderstood about you or your music? Rather what do you want people to get from your music, what are some ways people in general can change or help you or other people/artists in general?

I just hope that people start taking me seriously as a musician and artist. I won't ever quit.

If you could get this project in front of anybody in the game, with or who is not with us, who would you want to check this out? Artist, Influencer, Famous, Not Famous, Friend, Loved one, Anybody in particular?

Lupe Fiasco. I would want to know exactly what he thought about my skill set. I'd want to find out where I currently stand as a lyricist, and how I could improve from this point. I'd have him Mr. Miogi me

How will you be celebrating the album?

Well, this album releases on my birthday. Let's just say I have big plans.

Anything else you'd like to share?

We recently found Joe Aste’s album on social media through an advertisement, we found the cover art was very cool, and decided to check out the album. It has a mellow vibe, mixed in with great features from rappers. It is a sound album, perfect for the work-day getting sh*t done or catching a vibe. It has a travis scott feel to it mixed in with new age relaxation music hip-hop rap music.

Southern California hip hop artist Saint presents the Eric Munoz-directed music video for his self-produced new single "Only On A Cloudy Day". Saint's last full-length release was Too Boozed Too Cruuz (watch "Live Life Like A Party"), and he's working on a collaboration with 2nd II None (stream an unfinished version of "It's Got Me Feeling Like"). Saint has opened up for Tha Eastsidaz, Chino XL, LuckyIAm of Living Legends, Artifacts and 2Mex, and is currently working on Collaborative Minds, an album where he will feature one local artist and one famous artist on each track. "There’s something about a cloudy day," Saint says about the track. "While others get the blues from the gloominess I see it as the perfect day to be inspired. Cuddle up for a little bit, stay in your pajamas, light up the doobie, and watch some cartoons before you hit the studio. Sunny days are great too, don’t get me wrong, but as a December baby I got to stick to my cold weather, and cloudy days is where I draw the inspiration to this song from."

SWITCH-WHERE AM I

It’s no secret switch has been putting in work and delivering project after project. This is extremely impressive. Bar for Bar, Album for Album, Video for Video Switch remains consistent with dropping music and visuals for all of his projects. “Where Am I” is a unique project with a variety of sounds and on each track, making the overall album a fluid, creative piece. The Flow of the project is interesting, there are calmer hip-hop boom-bap sounds along with new-school songs that bump. On this project switch proves his growth, maturity and his continuous development and self-improvement of an artist. Overall really enjoyed the project and the Delivery on some of the tracks is crazy!

This project kicks off with “It’s a Trap” with a different lo-fi sound, which was exciting to hear from Switch. Switch has been making some hard-hitting music including [[new-school (boom-bap]] and it is dope to hear himself on a different style right off the bat to engage the audience. It’s obvious that switch has lyricism and knowledge in his bars. Whether it is universal knowledge, or society concerns and his life itself. He is also known for his chorus blends with Ad-libs to create a motion w/ sonics then slingshot launch you into the verses.

— This blend is shown on Track Two “I Forgot”, a very interesting take on this track. If you have been following Switch and his music you would know he has had a history with substance abuse and recovery. This track is interesting, our take— it shows Switch tempting the audience back into his past, with drug abuse, “Coming off the Codeine, took a luke-warm bath… I forgot” .. “Coming down off the cocaine, take a real warm bath” Is this switch forgetting about his past history w/ drugs? does luke-warm vs. real warm make it a metaphor? Very cool track, also dope concept to ponder & engage listeners.

After First Two Tracks, he moves the album forward with, Track 3-“What’s So Funny?” showing his elevation over the Hate, after three albums this year naturally he has grown through the process. We really enjoy the F*** You feeling to this track “Who’s laughing now?” This was definitely due for Switch on this Track.

Lion King ft. Zzzthesleephustler has a new-school sound which is an interesting segway on the album w/ a feature. Our favorite line is “White Widows in the Crib like a retirement home” very clever. Switch has also featured Zzzthesleepyhustler on a recent video for Try Harder

Track 5- “The List of Immediate Threats to my Well Being”(Produced by The Heretic), the name of the song immediately caught our attention. It reminded us of the name of a book you had to take in a College English Class, something along the lines of “A Series of Unfortunate Events”. This track was cool to include because it was creative and a change of pace on the album. Rhyme Scheme on point. Dope track talking about influence and instagram- Things that threaten switch’s well-being and dealing with other people’s ignorance. Checking people’s psyche and self-healing. Very Dope track to bring awareness to Switch’s Brand.

Smoke Wit Me” is a smoking song for sure. Switch hits his pocket with this song has a good-time doing what he does best and kickin the rap straight up. Overall well-done, which is a dope transition for the second half of the album.

Even the Deep End is ShallowEven the Deep End- is about Mindfullness clearing your head and recognizing people and their tendencies and how impactful people can be in your life. Being non-judgemental and working through the dark-sides of yourself and others. The beat and sound is perfect for this type of message and track. Staying positive, dope message. Overall, you can hear the passion Switch brings on this song which is refreshing to hear.

Where Am I” Track 8, the Title of the Album is next, this brings the energy back up and switch is flowing heavy metal. It has a dope boom-bap oldschool WuTang, vibe. Leading this flow into track on 9- “Heritage” Switch continues the flow, .. “sometimes it takes crisis to put things into perspective” "heritage, don’t forget where you came from” Switch snaps on both of these tracks going H.A.M w/ the bars.

Most of Time” is awesome, it is a very visual song, Switch changes up his voice on the chorus and creates a humorous yet dark concept with the song w/ a catchy chorus. This is one of our #rarefavorites . This song is imperfect too which makes it sound original and creative. Excellent track! Switch also, released the video today 10/12/19 for “most of the time” Check it out!

SWITCH-MOST OF THE TIME [Video by Forbez]

Vertigo” is unique. This track starts off with instrumentation to lay the baseline of the track with a classical feel. To us, this represents maturity/growth in the sound. Switch shows his lyrical/delivery talent by delivering fastflowing lines creating pockets of lyrics which is very impressive. Overall this track shows impressive delivery.

Happiness” the final track of the album is solid. A track you bob your head to. Another #rarefavorite. Has a calm tone and sounds like he is talking right to the listener in the verses. A personal track. This is a perfect ending to the album because it keeps the conversation/creation continuing and a perfect way to end on a strong note!

SWITCH-WHERE AM I (Apple Music)

Once again the delivery and flow of Switch on this project is crazy. The pockets he hits on his verses and choruses is great. He goes through each track dropping bars and knowledge… If you listen carefully you will even hear the story-line and overall themes. We think that switch had fun making this and we could hear more passion in his voice. It is great that there is proven growth and development. This is inspiring for other artists and fans listening to the music. The concept of the album was interesting, got us thinking, and and the fact that it has a variety of sounds is great.

Our top 3 #rarefavorites include: 1. It’s a Trap 2. ) Most of the Time & 3.) Happiness. However, the entire project is #rareflavr. What are some of your favorite tracks? Below we will include a link to RareFlavr on Spotify, so you can follow Switch and Add him to your playlists! We want to begin the conversation and improve everyday- this is motivating to us. We are on a mission to support artists and grow our brand, site and most importantly Artist’s reach and Message. The story line of this project and Switch’s artistry has improved our performance and overall want to give a BIG shoutout to Switch, his fans, listeners, supporters, and team for supporting #rareflavr. Steamboat, Colorado emcee AndE presents "35 Brick", featuring a guest appearance from Loui and produced by AndE himself. "35 Brick" is the lead single from AndE's debut album Eternal Canvas. which also features contributions from Burman and Yung Hung. AndE's work as the founder of BokBok Fashion led him to Kris Artz of Colorado Records, and they together released AndE's "Sell It" single (watch the music video) before beginning work on "Eternal Canvas".] AndE calls the new single "a record of my commandments. From start to finish and how they’ve been built. Loui is on the track because he was one of the first influences. Through separate strides we’ve both degenerated and then been able to grown into better people from it. This is a bit of that tale." He says he structured Eternal Canvas "with intent to create history. This chapter has been inspired by my lifelong interpretation of the culture we call hip hop, and what that culture means to me."
