CINOEVIL MUSIC /// O.C.D MUSIC Photos: @RoyalCandidz

NEW JERSEY hip-hop Music Artist CINOEVIL and his crew with O.C.D are elevating levels. We are here to showcase their current work and find out more about cino and his come-up.

How did it all begin?

“When I was about 10 years old. My best friend’s older brother had low budget recording equipment in his room. He would make songs while we played video games. He was a singer.. still is. One day, he made a track and said he needed to find a rapper to get on the verse. So I went home and wrote the most unbelievably ignorant bars about my Lamborghini and being a trillionaire at the age of 10. Lmfao but I fell in love with the whole process of recording. It went on like that for two more years until I started taking it seriously.. Around the age of 13, a good friend of mine had committed suicide. I was the last person she tried to contact. I had a very hard time coping with it but I had found freedom in writing and getting my feelings out through poetry and hiphop. I made music from the heart for the first time and put it out on Facebook, YouTube and Soundcloud. I would get messages from people telling me how my songs and words touched them and helped them through their hard times. That’s when I truly fell in love with creating music. The feeling I got from hearing that my words helped people was greater than anything I’ve ever felt before. They say pain shared is pain lessened and that theory was 1000% true in my case

How would you describe your music now?

“I feel I’ve stayed the same with the realness and truth in my music. I try to stay as honest as possible in the lyrics and speak on things that actually pertain to my life. I use music as my therapy works to its fullest potential is if you remain honest. What changed the most is the lyrics aren’t only about pain anymore. I touch on everything, both good and bad that I go through and see in my life. If i had to describe my music right now, I’d say it’s versatile. I bring a different vibe with each track… Different sub-genres of hip hop and different styles of rapping. I try to always keep the actual bars strong though whether I’m doing an ignorant autotuned track or if it’s straight old school boom bap rapping, I want the audience to be able to read the lyrics on paper and feel like they’re reading in depth poetry. Not just some braggadocious, fake luxury bars about things I don’t have.

How did you come up with the name “CinoEvil”?

“I had the name before I started rapping. My 4th grade teacher actually came up with it. My last name is Mancino. He always used to call me “Cino” for short. When he was taking attendance one day though, for whatever reason, he called me Cinoevil. And I just held onto it forever.”

Tell us more about O.C.D Music, how would you describe the brand? How did that come together?

O.C.D was formed when I was in high school. Probably around sophomore year. It originally was just me & 3 other artists. Wolfe, Vero & Nerson. It stands for “Obsessively Creative Deliquents”. The team started to build as our music got more love locally. We tried to put together a group of artists with all different styles and talents as nobody would get overshadowed. We consist of rappers, singers, producers, photographers, graphic designers & even a comedian as well. We all grew up in the Tristate area. Jersey, NYC & Philly mostly. Vero went off to pursue his craft solo. The team currently is me (Cinoevil), Wolfe, Ragz, Summonte, Nerson, Steamboat Crilly, Mustang Marinara, Hoodbabii, Imani DC, Morskamo, Jaded Shade & Dole. I would describe us as a family.”

Rich From The Pole (Zach Richardson)- Chicago made born and raised in Rogers Park on the North side of Chicago (from the pole) was raised in a one parent home living into a grateful existence. You can hear in the music an attitude of motivation, pain and progression. His biggest influence growing up was his mother as she looked out for him. He started hooping early and started playing basketball at 4 years old. After a few wrist injuries he grew more into hiphop and music, which he considers, a “a blessing from God

The following text and content is compiled from responses of a @RareFlavr X @denzo2x interview:

Recently we had the opportunity to connect with @denzo2x NorthSide (NorthPole) of Chicago Native to discuss up and coming opportunities within the music industry and business as a music entrepreneur. He mentioned to us he has been in the music game for about two years now and is looking to take a serious step further as he releases his next projects. He has always been a fan of music growing up and the power it has to influence other people. To Denzo, it is all about gaining enough influence to create a positive impact. It helps his mentality to remain sharp, because you have to think on a higher scale to create. For him it is all about where you can take a listener mentally. He loves music where the song describes real life events that are taking place. He also explained how enjoys where music is currently, because different sounds are accepted more than ever.

A piece of the creative process-

In the beginning he would receive beats and break them down individually with his voice. Afterwards, he writes about half of the song and finishes the other half in the studio.

“It’s crazy because sometimes I write in parts whether that be writing uh hook of a song, then the bridge following a verse etc. sometimes my mind be all over the place so I just getta feeling for each part of the beat and capitalize off of it. “ -D.LaFlair

“I try to back myself into a corner before sessions to see what I can really come up with because my camp likes to keep it professional as far as time management so I know I have to come into studios prepared to a high degree.” - OG DENZO

It was originally produced by Mic Will @_ogmicwill on IG and engineered by Banks @banksthegenius on IG. I’m extremely appreciative of these release date.” - OGDENZO

“My favorite team is The Bulls - not big on sports teams right now cause i feel the organizations aren’t making all of the right decisions but when Derrick Rose was at large I was the most excited about Chicago. Spent most of my youth playing basketball Fell in love with it an early age and never looked back I put a lot of work in tot the game and In return it shaped my character. “- OG DENZO

The following text/photos are comprised of a RareFlavr X KaSean Interview:

@Rareflavr x @bobbytenderlove

@Rareflavr x @bobbytenderlove

KaSean (@itsbobbytenderlove) is a creative artist on the rise from the SouthSide of Chicago, IL. We recently had the opportunity connect and feature his music in this next Artist Snapshot. We like to work with hungry artists on the rise, and who are looking to make a name for themselves in the entertainment/music industry and connect their work to others. This post is intended to get an introduction of himself as an artist, an intro to the music, and ideas in-progress.  Thank you to all readers, viewers, and listeners for following, commenting, and sharing this content.

intro

KaSean was born and raised & currently resides on the Southside of Chicago, IL . At an early age, he fell in love with the art of producing and began making music at 14 years old. More recently however, he has put that on hold realizing he has a greater passion for writing

"I think music found me because a lot of music before I was introduced to the likes of Lil Wayne and 50 cents I just couldn't stand, but those were the two artists that made me pay a lot more attention to hiphop and from there I just went backwards to learn the true essence of hip hop and found my own way of expressing it."- Kasean

We wanted to find out an intro about his background & process getting involved in music. He began to freestyle at an early age with his brother and while he was listening to some JAY-Z mixtapes. He started to wonder if he could make tracks of his own. As years went on and he progressed, he then realized that writing music something he has always been passionate about.

Pure HIP HOP & OUT OF THE BOX THINKING

Studio tracks and pushing singles is currently in the mix for KaSean, but we wanted to find out more about his unique style, sound, and influences. He mentioned just life and general and the GRIND. We all experience similar lives in the face of obstacles, but forming his own struggles and life situations into a successful process to overcome that adversity is a craft in itself. This is what it is all about.  When you get lost you can find your way by overcoming the challenges through hard work, gratitude, and excellence. The most motivating thing to him is the flourishing stage. When an Artist Makes it out of adversity and finally reaches a flourishing, prospering stage. This is something that many people strive for and it is very exciting to see artists and people reach their full potential and go past it even further! Making it your own.

@bobbytenderlove

@bobbytenderlove

WHAT DO YOU NEED FOR THE BEST WORK?

"When I write it has to be alone I can do it around other people but I prefer to be alone. I need about 2 blunts and hella snacks and lots of water always drink water. "

- Kasean

Originality is THE QUALITY we seek before creating an Artist Snapshot on our blog.  We work to find artists with unique capabilities, style, and sound; We respect the hustle and people with " RareFlavr "

 #rareflavr #RF

Pop-culture typically has a common theme with music and what makes a "hit".

Our goal is to find artists who sound nothing like what's trending and are in it to make dope music without copying style.

Artists who create content for what they think is cool rather than what's "trending" is what it's all about

The great thing about social media is that we are able to network with creatives all over the world. We value rare artists who create their own path and work hard to enhance their skills.

Recently, we had the opportunity to interview an intelligent Artist @MyNxggaE and asked him to share some knowledge, music, and gain some perspective on the industry and social awareness #share #rareflavr

IMAGE PROPERTY OF @MYNXGGAE

IT ALL STARTS WITH INFLUENCE

"yea I've always had an interest in art and the overall creative process. As a kid I did oil painting, wrote short stories, played a few instruments (drums, cornet, sax). As I got older I got really into graphic design, photography. The biggest influence on me artistically is probably a combination of Langston Hughes and John Coltrane. Jazz was awe inspiring to me as a kid; the complexity, the unpredictability, it was truly soulful music. Thats what got me into playing sax. I got a big ass book of Langston Hughes poetry when I was in high school that man was truly a prolific writer defining social awareness. In a more modern sense Kanye has been HUGE for me. His work with the MPC is forever an inspiration to my production and arrangement. "

GEOGRAPHY

" No actually I was not born and raised in St. Louis. Both my parents are Jamaican. I was actually born in Milwaukee and grew up all over the country (WI, OH, MD, CA) to name a few; I actually went to 3 different high schools in 4 years. But I've been in STL for about 10 years now and it's played a very instrumental role in my social awareness. St. Louis has such a rich and storied black history from the ville and kinloch, historically strong black communities that survived segregation era to the harsh realities of East St. Louis, and the racial injustices plaguing the north city as well as St. Louis County in areas like Ferguson. And this is a history that is not singular to St. Louis but rather something I saw in Baltimore, Chicago, DC, NYC, etc. all across the country as I grew up; Black communities struggling to survive while in search of the American dream. "

MENTORS, INSPIRATION, INTERESTS, AND INSTRUMENTS

"My musical influences are always changing depending on what music I'm currently fixating on, I think it's my ADD at work. Right now I'm on a synths kick so Devonte Hynes, Majid Jordan, Ryan Hemsworth; but overall Future, Pharrell, Drake, George Clinton, Linkin Park, J-Dilla, and Erykah Badu. The artist that speaks to me the most in music is by far Kanye West; watching him journey from college burnout backpack rapper to media mogul and all the bumps is between is inspiring; his producer/rapper/brand model changed not only the music industry but the fashion industry as well. Musically I feel like Kanye always exemplified what first peaked my interest in hip-hop, the complexity in the musical arrangements to the level of full classical compositions. Lyrically Kanye has always been both deeply personal and yet socially and culturally aware which is a difficult balance in the climate of the early 2000s.

PRODUCTION/EQUIPMENT/INFLUENCE

"Yea I started producing because I kinda have an obession with "cloud rap" like an other world production sound; I absolutely love my Akai MPC Studio best piece of equipment in my studio (even though I do have an MPC Live still working out the kinks the learning curve is crazy). I use my numark mixtrack controller for some chops. I usually do my own masters so i got my jbl monitors, steinberg audio interface, rode nt1 cuz rode mics are amazing for low resonating vocals, my bass guitar, and a fender amp for extra bass. As a Virgo I always favor the here and now over the past, I draw a lot of inspiration from 70s funk, 80s synths, 90s boom bap, but the music that speaks to me the most is the music I'm listening to now. Princess Nokia, Northeast Party House, The Neighborhood, NxWorries, Kaytranada, Steve Lacy, Smino, SZA, and Ravyn Lenae "

LIVE SHOWS, ENTERTAINMENT, STAGE PRESENCE, STUDIO SESSIONS

Showcase Tour hit me up, I think they found my info on reverbnation. It was an amazing opportunity for an artists showcase, a nation-wide tour, but each stop being filled with 10+ Local Artists. The show was amazing first time I've performed since I had my first child so I was a bit nervous, but once I got on stage it was all muscle memory lol. I do everything I can to bring my audience into those late night studio sessions with me, so I chose tracks that I think translate well atmospherically. I am always impressed by the energy of live rock shows so I do all my vocals live no backing track, give the crowd something that sticks with them, memorialize the moment. Low-Key I'm cooking up on adding live elements to the song arrangement too (reference that MPC Live I mentioned earlier) and I've been working with a jazz fusion band of late so new things are coming soon. My favorite track to perform is probably That's My Nxgga Prod by @vaughnvibes. The beat has that classic boom bap/J-Dilla feel so it seems perfect to recreate the energy of The Get Down that I was obsessing over at the time I first heard the beat. It has some good call and response portions to get the crowd involved and then showcases my lyrical ability and range well. Yea I'm glad you caught the easter egg of The Store Run; it was a track I made inspired by the nostalgia of me and my less reputable cousins stepping out during thanksgiving to hit the "store run" and come back eyes redder than the devil is and ready to eat lmao. So it was just something creative to commemorate the season; I like making tracks that are real conceptual sometimes. I produced the beat and then just freestyled in rounds like how you take turns spitting over the radio in the car during the hotbox. "

My Nxgga E - "We Jammin" Black Friday Cypher @ 2720 Cherokee St Louis, MO

PERSONAL BRANDS/ UPCOMING PROJECTS

"Negus is my own creation a combination of lifestyle brand and multimedia company. It represents my internal struggle for identity as a black man in America. Negus is the amharic word for king a or a god a title given to rules of Ethiopia the only African country to not be colonized; however it also phonetically is pronounced much like niggas the racial epithet meant to strip black people of the value in our ancestral heritage. Negus is actually the name of my next project, a self produced EP slated to drop this summer. I've been working on this project for 2-3 years now so I've been teasing about it in visuals and making merch to self-fund production costs. The Champion collaboration I did with Negus for the Store Run/Thank You hoodies was just extra sauce cause the track felt like it fit the season so well I needed something to physically commemorate the experience. "

ADVICE FOR YOUNG ARTISTS, STAGE PRESENCE

Honestly repetition is the father of all learning. I think practicing your material constantly allowing your music to become just muscle memory is key. I treat the lyrics almost like a mantra, reminding myself of the feeling and emotions that I poured into the music so that i can best portray them in my delivery. I'd also say that working the stage is key; having an understanding of how to have good stage presence can go a long way. Negus was made for live shows so while I do have video treatments formulating for a few of the songs, my first step is to bring the material to a live audience likely through a listening session our live showcase this summer in conjunction with the projects release. "

mynxggae.com

FUTURE OF MUSIC

"The future of music looks bright I see the elements of hip-hop being rearranged not only by the popularity of EDM but also due to the rise of urban contemporary music. I think groups like NxWorries give rebirth to atmospheric hip hop, the latest class of MPC producers (Kaytranada, Sango, Knxwledge) are proof that the legacy of JDilla lives and breathes in a newer generation. The future of the music industry however is on an interesting path. For better or worse the culture IS changing. The release of music has been drastically effected by the success of streaming platforms. Despite the best attempts at combating the diminishing market such as Beyonce Lemonade album releasing with no marketing seemed to only slowed the inevitable; and thus new platforms, and business models must be built. Fashion has always been an important outlet for musicians to display their creativity but the collaboration strategy has given what was mostly a marketing strategy real teeth allowing for strong gains for brands like adidas, supreme and puma putting their product in front of larger audiences and giving them access to a greater range of materials to create from. From Poland to the U.S.A. @_Larcin_ is a hip-hop artist that has a unique personality and story. Larcin was originally born in Poland and came to the USA when he was 8 years old and moved three times before finally settling in in Park Ridge IL with his family. He has been associated with music his entire life. He began playing piano at 10 years old and sang in his Church Choir until he was 16 years old. During his teenage years he also picked up guitar.

@_Larcin_ on Instagram

@_Larcin_ on Instagram

He started writing rhymes when he was 16-17 years old and At 17, he was arrested for possession of weed and was sent to Cook County.   The administration at Cook forgot to input his bail, So he had to stay in jail for 4 days. Although he has had some challenges along the way, there is still music to be made and we took some time to learn about his motivation and upcoming projects.

In the beginning, Larcin wrote raps on his phone until one of his friends @SAPA INCA took him to the studio.  About 6 months ago he started to think of rap names. That is where LARCIN was created. Before that, his first rap name was herb-- all of his close friends called him HERB from ages 12 and at 19 changed it to MARCIN The dream and at 22 LARCIN.

More Recently, the projects he's working on is an ep called, "Life Aint What it Seems"EP that is coming out in mid February with Features from brewskisapa inc and blunt gutta.

Larcin was raised by polish parents who are very against drugs and very religoius but very musical.  His influence comes from first ever rap D12 my band and 50 cent in the club then fell in love with hiphop and rap. He has been expanding his musical ear ever since but lover of 90s and 2000s rap the most.

He mentioned he listens to alot of Jim Rohn who is a motivational speaker and who has a lot of inspiration in his life. and gets a lot of inspiration looking for and listening to people and see how their lives everyone has traveled a different journey and it's cool to see where they came from.

"i try to be original but i love different kinds of music not just rap i listen to a little bit of everything except country" -larcin

What do you look for in music what do you appreciate the most that most people take for granted?

"I look to make something that can catch people's ear something that can get stuck in people's heads so they come back and listen to it again and have that tune in their head all day long! I try to appreciate the little things and be happy with what i have now because i know that so many people in the world have it so much worse than me. My favorite quote,"its better to be prepared for an opportunity and not have one, then to have an opportunity and not be prepared"- Whitney Young

"Behind Larcin is just a kid that's trying to leave a mark in the world and help as many people as I can to get where they want to get in life."- Larcin

What to expect next coming weeks

The "Life ain't what it seems ep" with features from brewski and sapa inca and blunt gutta and a couple of singles dropped after the ep.

C.U.L.T.U.R.E.

C.U.L.T.U.R.E. (@Culturemusik1 on twitter) was born as Enoch I Augustusel in Baltimore, MD as an artist w/ a deep message. Take a look at PT.1 AND PT. 2 promo trailers for 21 Days To Glory to get a sense of the message and listen below!

C.U.L.T.U.R.E.

is

conquer, unite, live, truthfully, under, righteous earnings.

We had the opportunity to ask C.U.L.T.U.R.E. some questions to learn more about himself, music, and his thoughts on culture. Also he had the opportunity to share with us some of his favorite music of all time.

Tell us some of the advantages you have gained from your upbringing. We understand religion has been a big part of your life. How do you believe that has made you into the man you are today? Has it held you back? What advice would you give to someone in regards to practicing religion or spirituality and tying that into any of life's endeavors? (noticed you shed some light on the promo trailer).

"First gotta say Rare Flavr thanks for conducting this interview and allowing me to share with your readers more of my story. Yes God has played a major role in my life. As a youth I pretty much grew up in church, but it was those dark days in my late adult hood that put things in to perspective for me. They say sometimes you don't know what you got until its gone. Well for me I kinda back slid, tried to be cool and forget who gives us breath everyday. I didn't want to be that preachers kid, I wanted to run with the wolves. I found myself pecking with the chickens trying to soar with the eagles. I felt alone no one was by my side I felt like I fell from God's graces. The best way to put it is when you tired to escape thru drugs, sex, money and alcohol, when the high comes down you still find yourself searching for a deeper purpose, a deeper meaning in life. I will say the fear and knowledge of God has kept me from doing a lot of people wrong, allowed me to walk in love towards those who may not have deserved or understood unconditional love.

Social Media Winter - Spring 2017.jpg

Honestly I wouldn't say me being a Christian or follower of God has held me back from achieving anything. What has held me back is the same thing that I'am accused of by non followers and Believers of God. I get pre-judged for thinking I am better than others, which is far from the truth. My main advice for anyone is find the truth for yourself, me believing and practicing faith will do nothing for you. Realize we are all held accountable for the life we lived. And remember religion is nothing if love is not the motive for all that we do. "

What is the biggest problem w/ society or music? How can we change that? What is something you would like to see change w/in music, celebrity, the game etc?

"The biggest problem with society in my opinion again is the lack of love / humanity, for instance when someone loses there life people are quick to ask what type of person they where. Blindly stopping to acknowledge someone lost there life. In music, the biggest problem is the lack of artist giving life. In Hip-Hop talent should outshine your street credibility or hype/swag. Young and old fans need to know the culture is not just about gang banging, drugs, money or even self righteous topics. In both spectrums the main issue is the lack of compassion, and the abundance of arrogance and ignorance. And when arrogance and ignorance abound you have darkness, darkness represents death and destruction. Death and destruction is the opposite of light, void of LIFE. As artist and curators lets get back to giving LIFE to the world outside our window. "

When listening to music, what do you hear or think of the most? The beat, drums, tempo, lyrics, voice, etc? What do you hear the most, what do you appreciate the most? Why? How does that influence your music?

"Honestly at this point I have learned to place every song into its own case study, one song I may like the vocals, the other the beat or tempo. So it varies. but when we talk Hip-Hop its always lyrics first. Like EPMD said " So Watcha Saying", you gotta have a message in your work rather it be street or poetic, christian to turn up. I wanna here you persevere thru something. Kinda like that Hi-Rez / Dizzy Wright track "Preach" or the track by Sylvan LaCue "Best Me". "

We appreciate your likings of common and Nas / Mos Def. What is your favorite song of all time? Who and what touches you the most? and Why? How so?

Man this is really a tough question, I am more of a complete album kind of guy so lets get the list rolling. Hahaha Common "Be" "Resurrection" and "Finding Forever", The Roots "Illadelphia" "Phrenology" "Things Fall Apart" "Undun", Nas "iLLmatic" "Untitled", Mos Def "Black On Both Sides", Phora "Just A Kid", Mick Jenkins "Dehydration" Talib Kweli "Ear Drum", Eric Roberson "Mr Nice Guy", Maxwell "Urban Hang Suite" "Black Summers Night", Erykah Badu "Baduizm" "Mommas Gun", Tupac "All Eyez On Me" "Me Against The World" "Until The End Of Time", Korn "Korn" "Follow The Leader" "Issues", Incubus "Morning View" "Make Yourself" "A Crow Left Of The Murder"

Linkin Park and the list just can go on forever.  The biggest genre of music would be Neo-Soul, neo-soul embodies a lot of sounds from jazz, hip-hop, gospel, rock, R&B and house. So at this point it is all things I love wrapped up in to one.

What was the process like making 21 days to glory? How long did it take? Beat selection ? Blunted Beatz? (good choice) If you could shed light that'd be excellent

The title says a lot, the three plus years making that project was me growing spiritually while dealing with the daily issues of life. Honestly the last 8 months of this project really put me to the test, from losing a lot of family and friends to the lost of a computer and job. But yet I still stand and rise by the grace of God. On the creative side I went thru this phase where I was not ready to let that jazzy boom bap era go, so a lot of those earlier tracks reflect that the change came when I wanted to add tracks from the exact moment in time I was living. So "Red Ballon$" has a different vibe and is my personal favorite on the whole project. I had the final track picked out too, but when I heard Kenneth English's track for Learning Day Pt.2 I was like yeah theres the change up I have been looking for. For me I always give a preview of what my next project is gonna consist of at the end of the project that came before it. Thats my artist secret hahahaha, one of 7 tho.

I spoke briefly about the lost of my computer, so for like 4 months I couldn't create anything. That was crazy, so in my down time I made a pact with God like yo if you let me get another computer I promise to make a song for you. One day at work I had Youtube playing and this soulful track came on that was mad original I started humming the hook for it. I had to find out who was the producer, turned out to be Bliss Music and that track I used for "Loca Chica". After going thru his catalog I found the track for "Adoration" and I was like God this one is for you so the concept was laid with the words. And actually that was the birth of "21 Days To Glory" before that I was gonna drop a project called "Blvds and Sunsets" still may drop some songs from that project too. Still thinking. So yeah one song changed my artist brand forever.

After all of this my cousin Purnell The Painter had a home boy that was into visuals known as SK with SK visuals (SK THA FINESS GOD) two dope graft artist by the way too. Back to the story, I was looking to do visual projects and needed someone I could afford. So me, P and SK started playing around with ideas and came up with the first official promo video. After that did good we just started building from there. He became the visuals guy and the brand started to take shape. But yeah thats the story, long answers I know LoL!!

How do you see yourself evolved or different as an artist after releasing 21 days to glory?

I am ready to experiment with sounds outside of boom bap and embrace the challenges that may ensue. I now know what it takes to properly release material, a wiser businessman but at the same time I am a even bigger dreamer.

What would you compare 21 days to glory to? Any particular part in your life? A test, a journey, a phase etc?

Yeah this 2016-2017 era as far as life goes. The project musically gives you the journey thru the songs, engineering, production of life. If I had to compare it to anything I would say its a tv sitcom, Its giving insight on love, faith, death, self redemption and survival. This project would be my version of "Finding Forever" or "The Infamous" by Mobb Deep. Yeah I know cray comparison right Hahahaha!!!!

Who are some of your favorite mentors? How have they played a part in your life? What skills /knowledge have you learned from them and how  has that helped you the most?

Outside of music one of the biggest influences was Pastor Ed Calloway. He was someone that really believed in me as a person gave me as much encouragement as possible. He never got a chance to see or hear any of music but I know he's in heaven looking down proud. Besides him I would have to say Common has been the biggest influence thru his music. Thats someone I have never meet personally, but he taught me so much thru his art on how to be a better person. You know you can sit and listen to that brother and not grow, unless you can't hear. Funny how you start off wanting to be the exact same artist as your influence, but as you grow you become your own. All the artist I mentioned earlier gave me a part of who I am today.

What is something people may misunderstand about you or your music? What else should we know to help understand your message or artistry?

I think the biggest label right now is that I am throw back artist, people really have to sit down and listen to a old school track from the 90's and then listen to my music and give it an honest side by side comparison. I think Joey BadA$$ has more old school vibes than I do. And of course I am not knocking no brand, label or sound. But thats the biggest thing I run into. To answer that second part of your question I haven't put out enough material yet for the message to fully click or not to click. I just want people to know I may talk about God on one track, and then talk about love or death on another. Yes I am a man, yes I am man who loves God, but that doesn't mean the sun always shines for me. I don't think I am better than anyone. I have my demons and insecurities too. So I create out of being human. I am not some super flashy egotistical artist, just a regular blue collar guy with a bug heart and big dreams.

What is something you would like to accomplish in society or with your music within next 1-5 years? Any goals you are currently working on you can share w/ us?

"The biggest thing I want to do is bring people together from all walks of life, no matter race, religion, creed or color. I really want this world to know Hip-Hop is not just a gangster lifestyle, its not some dark art form that promotes death, drugs and destruction. There are many levels to it. I want the world to know you can love God and sill have things you need to work out. I want my music to support itself so I can have schools for self growth, community outreach all the time. Give a platform to younger artist that love music the way I do. "

"Personally I wish one day soon I can run into a tour promoter or manager with a major artist to help me get on tour. So this world can get the best quality soulful HipHop they have been missing since the blu and exile dropped there project. I want this to be the start of my legacy. "Forget millions, I want to be able to save people and there children", or like Tupac said " In a position to make millions, but I wanna be in the position to make a difference". This is my new favorite saying and I believe this in my heart, chase a legacy not a check!!"

Is there anything else we should know? what is something we do not know about yourself or your music?

Before pursuing music with all that I have, I was heavy into the illegal street racing scene. 2002-2006 they made "Fast and the Furious" about my generation hahaha!!! But yup I am GM factory trained car technician. I love cars but hate the car industry. LoL!!! But yeah I love speed mainly sports cars corvettes, vipers, skylines, and supras. Don't get it twisted tho I will stop in mid sentence if I see a properly built DA/DC/EF/EG Integra or Civic, s13's s14's and DSM's yeah there ok hahahaha!!

Anything else we have not asked that we can add? Feel free to take the mic

At this point I am afraid of dying alone, never reaching my full potential as a man or artist because I wasted too much time. Resulting in a legacy that never got started. Really thats my poetic way of saying after the lights shut off and its my turn my main concern that know one will sing about me. But Peace and one Love young world till the end of the cosmos. And Rare Flavr gotta say thanks again much appreciated.

Yo thanks again so much guys I really appreciate this opportunity this is hopefully gonna make a difference in someones life.

What was the music scene like for you growing up in Texas? What got you influenced into music? Any Specific band, movie, etc?

"The Music Scene for us is very diverse. We have a strong Rock, Soul, and Hip-Hop influence so I grew up on things like UGK and ZZ Top which is a crazy combo lol. My dad played guitar, harmonica, and sang so I always had music all around me. My favorite artist is Jay-Z and favorite producer is Timbaland so watching those two made my inspiration go through the roof. All my friends were getting into rapping or different things so I just kinda naturally slid into making beats. " - Trakksounds

We noticed you've worked with some big named rappers and singers. What was that transition looking like starting from making beats in High School to featuring artists like 2 Chainz and Scarface?

"Man it kinda just started happening because i was so persistent on the internet. I was hitting people every day like let me send beats, let me send beats, let me send beats lol. Eventually the 2 Chainz placement happened and I just kept at it. Every little placement opened the doors for my big placements and I worked with a lot of up and comers before my first big track so I was just staying patient because I could feel it coming"

- Trakksounds

That's sick persistence was the key. Is your studio set up in Houston? Do you do a home studio or somewhere you rent out or someone you know own a studio? Or mostly remote traveling w/ your studio?

"I have a home studio and a like office studio called IMIX Studios that I bring clients to and did a lot of my biggest tracks there in Houston." - Trakksounds

Nice what is your favorite Kit to use? Drums trumpets, organs, 808's etc and why? Also, what types of equipment is essential for a successful session?"

"My favorite kits are probably my own that I make from random sounds lol. I have all types of random equipment in sessions from keyboards, guitars, talkboxes, percussion, etc. But gotta have a keyboard only mainly and I can make it happen. I can even use my laptop keyboard and make some tracks."

- Trakksounds

On Trakksound's YouTube Channel, he not only showcases tracks he has made but also a glimpse into the actual creative process. If you are interested in learning about that creative process check out his YouTube Channel Here. As well as a quick "The Other Side Documentary"

What would you say is some important advice for aspiring producers and young artists? What has been a key to your success

"I would be ready to do a lot of unpaid or way below what  you think is your value because at this point you have to build your name as a producer as much as an artist and brand yourself. " - Trakksounds
